UPCaM for me is a group I can come to whenever, with whatever is going on in my life and know I'm loved and accepted. I can come to worship in the middle of a horrible week and come out refreshed and reminded of God's love, ready for the rest of the week.
When I first came to CWRU, I was not plugged in to any religious/ Christian organizations on campus. Other Christian organizations that I found did not fit my style or belief system, either because they were too polarizing or too aggressive. One day I finally swallowed my fears and I was hooked ... I decided that UPCaM was definitely the place for me.
UPCaM in Cleveland focuses its work on three campuses: Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University, and Cuyahoga Community College Metro Campus.
Some programs and events are campus specific. Yet several incude students from all three schools such as Labre Meal Making -- cooking for those experiencing homelessness in Cleveland and our anticipated 2020 Spring Break Trip.
We invite you to explore Campus Events to learn more about what's planned for the 2019/2020 school year!
UPCaM is a Christ-centered ministry welcoming all students into an open and caring community to connect, to explore their faith and to have an impact in the world.
UPCaM is a progressive campus ministry proud of its history as a program of mainline Protestant denominations and their historical emphasis on social justice, peace, and a spiritual openness to all human beings that is clearly exemplified in the ministry of Jesus.
UPCaM seeks to complement and supplement students' academic experience, not distract from it. Our aim is to serve the wider church while students are on campus, be they near or far from home.
UPCaM wants to be your home away from home! All are welcome.
